Meet our volunteers
Our volunteers are the foundation of Brush Up Utah. Many are pre-dental students dedicated to advancing oral health equity in our community. Brush Up Utah’s team would like to thank each and every one of them for their commitment and impact. Learn more about their work and how you can get involved.

I am currently a pre-dental student finishing my degree in health, society, and policy. Studying HSP has opened my eyes to how social determinants like SES, race, and resource access create health disparities. I want to help bridge the gap and provide care to those in need.

A fun fact about me is that I’m a proud cat mom. My kitty's name is Brawkohleigh, and I’ve been harness training her so I can eventually take her on hikes or to the park with me.

I joined Brush Up Utah because this team focuses on giving back to our community by providing basic dental hygiene necessities. Through my journey in becoming a dentist, I’ve learned the importance of oral hygiene and how it contributes to overall health. I want to be a resource for individuals unable to access or obtain these items themselves.
Jennifer Camarena
Volunteer
I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Utah studying entrepreneurship on the pre-dental track. As a first-generation college student, my goal is to attend dental school and eventually open my own practice. My dream is to serve communities and help improve access to dental care, especially for those who may not always have the resources or support they need. Spanish is my native language, and being bilingual has allowed me to connect with and support my community in meaningful ways.

A fun fact about me is that I grew up in an underserved community, which has shaped my perspective and passion for giving back.

I love Brush Up Utah because, as someone who grew up in an underserved community, I understand how important it is to have access to safe and supportive living environments. Being able to give back and help improve people’s homes means a lot to me because I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference it can make. I enjoy being part of something that directly impacts others in a positive and meaningful way.

Volunteer
I am currently a junior pursuing my bachelor’s degree in health and kinesiology. My goal is to attend dental school and return to my hometown of Price, Utah, to operate my own dental practice.

A fun fact about me is that I used to be a gymnastics coach, I was a competitive dancer for 15 years, and I am a certified eyelash technician.

I joined Brush Up Utah because I have always been very passionate about oral health, and I believe everyone should have access to the necessities of proper oral hygiene. I take pride and joy in being able to help make a difference in people’s lives.
